The Missing Program

In the studio, I use an Eventide H3000 D/SX. It contains a program that I could not find again in Eventide's H3000 Factory plugin: Program 104, Reverse Shift.

Reverse Shift combines pitch shifting, delay and reverse playback. The unit records a short audio segment, then plays that segment backwards while the next segment is being captured. The result is a moving, spacious effect that sits somewhere between a reverse delay, a granular texture and a very unusual reverb. I wanted this sound in my plug-in rig when I am away from the studio, so GOZE REVERSE SHIFT was built from measurements of the original hardware and from the stereo behaviour of my own setup.
